I'm glad they went with the sad ending in the original series and the show. It made a lot more sense. It was pretty sweet reading how it might have been, here. This series is a masterpiece, as far as I'm concerned.

edit: Oooookay, i'm pretty sure it's crap fiction patchwork. Besides, i've read this for tearz, angst and bad french indie movie ambiance originally, so even if it was written by Yokoyari Mengo herself, i would not accept it as canon.

Not surprising there's a happy alternate ending. Many were pissed by the original. The man destroying slut gets a happy ending, but the leads didn't. It was dumb.

After all these years, I’ve never known that there were an alternate ending. Maybe because there really isn’t one - I’m convinced this is a crappy forgery made by some scanlators because they couldn’t stomach the real ending.

Even though I wanted a "happy ending" for our two protagonist, I think how the original series ended is fine.

It says on the foreword that this was a fanmade alternate ending. This was almost nice until it got a bit sappy towards the end.

And for everyone saying the original ending was too grim, letting go is way harder than sticking to your replacement, and they're all the better for it.
