@mahtan How do we know that? There are plenty of isekai series where the human kingdom asks the summoned heroes to wipe out the demons because their existence is at stake, when really it's just a regular war (often initiated by the humans), or the humans want to invade the demon kingdom to seize the territory, or something like that.
What about the tragedy tag? Does anyone have some interpretation about it? Just wanna talk, I'm worried about it somehow.
Also the darkness in the plot is good, which I've not seen often.
Just thinking out loud - this should have the harem tag.
damn so that princess is basically an end-level player lol. guess at this point it's less about bringing the hero back to save the world rather than bringing back the hero's cum
@gaigous I'm just saying it's kinda hilarious how obvious they're making the girlfriend of this series. In addition. I really like how the princesses are the ones that have the main battle of this manga and the MC is just trying to protect his normal life, which means delving into fantasy powers lol.
@Wolvenworks
She is not only end game lvl player but a full maxed all classes player. Its like having WOW account with all classes maxed up (probably expect ninja that was mentioned and maybe samurai -just a guess). They did say that two classes where sealsed in this world.
@phoenixir I was leaping for joy at his Shiro-like epiphany that "people die when they are killed" and that he needed to obtain power asap or everything else was meaningless, and then facepalmed at him discarding that determination to waste time talking to the very person he wanted power to protect in the first place, and then after the drama, they told him about the training camp and he was like: "Oh yeah, right, training!", so yeah, It was all very Jarring to me, but I'm pretty jaded from reading many similar stories, and I absolutely love Parabola's art style, so it's all good in the neighborhood~
@gaigous I actually think him taking the time to talk to her was fresh? I mean how many MCs have you seen make the promise to protect someone...and proceed to exclude that person that person from everything until the protected one says something about it. Him talking to her before training shows the she's actually one of her priorities instead of lip service.
@phoenixir Okay yeah, I definitely agree that turning the heroine into an object to be protected when her strengths lie in combat is beyond stupid, but I would argue that a long-time friend who needs validation that they're a priority when time is of the essence is also stupid when a phone/video call would meet their need to speak to each other and train at the same time.
@gaigous I mean they're in the same house and the meeting didn't take that long. I think using a phone to talk to someone in the same building is silly(unless it's a castle or fortress). He probably also needed to see face to face that she was okay. I mean she risked her soul for him. So he saw she was okay, talked to her then proceeded to his training with THE MIGHTY GOLEM ACE! with due haste
@phoenixir Good point, I forgot all about the giant house, and she didn't risk the entirety of her soul, she "offered" a good portion of it up to revive the MC, it wasn't an all or nothing kinda deal, but the internal switch from "I must get stronger as quickly as possible to protect them!" to "Even though I know she's okay, I need the emotional relief of seeing her face to face!" Is still very jarring to me, I'll have to wait and see if he's so easily swayed by other events, I mean, it wouldn't be fair to call him "a leaf-in-the-wind" when it's only chapter 5, right?
@m4ng4 I'm really bad at remembering specific examples. Wortenia Senki is probably the most famous example, I think Assassin de aru ore no Sutetasu ga Yuusha yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi Nodaga does something like that too. I'm probably mixing up some LNs too. In Mixed bathing, the demon kingdom was wiped out because
their economic trade policies were undercutting prices in the human kingdoms
. Goodbye Isekai Tensei has some aspects of that (the demons are clearly not the bad guys). Jinrou e no Tensei, Maou no Fukukan is kind of the opposite because the protagonist gets reincarnated on the demon side (the manga version is terrible, though, super disjointed and jumps all over the place, read the LN instead).
I'm sure that I've read multiple other examples, usually the situation being yes, the demons are invading... because the humans invaded them first to try to conquer more territory... But I can't remember any specifics beyond that.
@gaigous. I'm glad It's not. Personally, I'm positive the demon princess had something of a thing for Goblin Ace.... also I don't know where but I am positive I smell lillies.
@phoenixir Lamia Ace is the only one that's really my type so far, and I never ship the childhood friend because I don't like the archetype, so i'm just hoping for a come from behind victory with one of the others, I hate it when an MC has all these options and goes with a girl he's already known, it reminds me of Shuffle.
@gaigous Recently though in most harem manga and anime the childhood friend always loses. In fact, it's downright rare for the childhood friend to be the main heroine... I haven't even seen it since Ai yori Aoshi.
... I'm starting to feel my experience lol. Ironically I was kinda disturbed by Konami's boobs until I saw that her waist and hips match their proportions.
