Apparently it came down to personal taste -___-
Long story short, Gaolang is stronger than Okubo, so he gave more challenge.

@Big_Boss

It is difficult to disagree with the way you see it (MMA > muay thai (not kickboxing, they are world appart !)), but as it is often said, you have to get a grip of your opponent to use grappling technique. Now imagine ALL THE TIME that the Fang has put into training in these, and convert it in punch/kick/elbow/footwork for Gaolang. And in this manga we are talking about genius and surhuman prodidgies, so it make a difference in my opinion. Gaolang is the absolute freaking best in the world at what he does. I just really hope that when the Fang win (even if as the majority here I would prefer Gao ?), he does it with grappling.
But yeah, @Kathartes resumes it well !

@Serenata
The "heavy strike" as also a full force suprise punch he jumped right into ? (I had to reread).

I thought he kicked him in the balls.

Was a little disappointed.

Y'know, I love Gaolang but it kinda irks me that Kiozan was treated like crap for doing essentially the same thing.
Well, Kiozan is also kind of an asshole, they ultimately proved that his "Primal Sumo" had just as many weaknesses as "Modern Sumo", and I don't approve of him going around beating up marshal artists outside of matches but like Kuroki said martial arts are supposed to evolve over time.

@Mr_Stizblee Kiozan didn't stand at the top of sumo before realizing that modern sumo has many flaws. Gaolang is the top Nak Muay, and then he picked up boxing for his own reason. they're not the same thing.
