bet next chapter is gonna say that the thing standing up was just his fighting intent/spirit and then it turns around to see his body on the ground or something

@AfroSparrow Lol no, you think Ohma can talk to fighting intent/spirit now? the closest thing to that is when he talking with ghost Niko, but that was only happen inside his head..
Wakatsuki didn't use his "fang" and this fight ended up mimicking the one he had with Julius.
Well, let's hope for Ohma that the other semifinal is going to be a bloodbath because his own body is at a point where he needs 2-3 months of recovery, at least.

Indeed, blast core was introduced as Wakatsuki's "fang" and I was just noting that he didn't use it in this fight. Which is not surprising because it's a great technique if your aim is to destroy a sand bag, but it's not good for much else if your opponent is aware of it and it simply couldn't be mixed in the flurry of punches and kicks he was throwing at Ohma in order to keep the pressure up.
I would not say myself that the blast core is very bad against demonsbane. We've seen Ohma fail at the demonsbane because he's not that good at making his body go limp. Similarly, just as there are limits to what Ohma can take with indestructible, there are limits to what Ohma can redirect. So honestly, I don't think we can tell if demonsbane could successfully counter blast core and end catastrophically for Wakatsuki or if it would end up catastrophically for Ohma if he's unable to counter it. It's also possible that even if he could counter it, he'd still get damaged because the technique is so strong. So in my opinion, it's something that could go either way depending on their condition and how much they polish their techniques; I wouldn't claim that either technique is better than the other when matched against each other (although demonsbane is clearly more useful in a fight, it's also not exactly one technique but more a collection of techniques relying on the same principles).

@Kireato I mean right now you just theorycrafting, sure it will be catastrophic if wakatsuki use blast core and Ohma try to counter it with his first demonbane because at that time he didn't do it right and still take damage for himself/lowered the damage he deliver to wakatsuki, but that was not the case with Ohma second demonbane, and while probably there a limits of how much he can take..Ohma already see wakatsuki blast core multiple times and wasn't particularly worried about it, unlike the other fighters like Julius and Muteba.
@Fri No, his injured ankle is from his fight vs Fang 8 years ago, but using blast core will open his old wound.

Wakatsuki didn't have many blast cores left in him. And he knew that was his only chance against the Fang of Metsudo. He had Ohma on the ropes so it made sense for him to save it.
