Some recent thoughts on the series, culminating with this chapter:

i. Regarding Mikasa, Eren fails to see the larger picture. If she were operating just under the Ackerman drive to protect the king, her actions would be limited to when he's in danger. That explains why she stopped Armin from attacking him without even knowing what she was doing.

However, because in this great manga nothing is by chance, now I see there's a meaning to when Mikasa insisted that Eren eat all his bread. That, and maybe other small tokens of affection are completely unrelated to safeguarding his physical integrity from imminent attack. Likewise for Mikasa's jealousy towards Annie; jealousy is of no value for personal protection. (Perhaps reminiscing about the girls' catfight will be the thing that will bring Eren to his senses?)

It's love, plain and simple. Eren was so focused on the Ackerman Drive that he doesn't see it's not mutually exclusive with love. Both can be real at the same time. And this is very sad.

ii. Zeke's plan has several potential pitfalls. I'm guessing Eren didn't tell him nearly as much about the Founding Titan, or the other discoveries the people in the island made about Titans, to Zeke as he told Eren about his own findings.

And that is very dangerous.

For one thing, does Zeke know Eren is the dominant player when he touches a possessor of royal bloodline?

If he doesn't, I can't even forecast how things will play out when he finds out.

If he does, then his plan must be to eat Eren, turn everyone sterile and then die, thus destroying four Titans at the same time (Founder, Attacking, Warhammer, Beast) and preventing them from coming back in an Eldian baby.

And then comes the greatest question of all: did Eren tell him Zeke's own will would be taken over by the King's will?

I'm betting he doesn't. Which means that it will be a disaster - wholesale Eldian genocide - if Zeke eats Eren. Not that Zeke would care that much, given that his plan is for everyone to die of old age anyway.

iii. For another thing, even if he could somehow overpower the King's Will, Zeke's counting that he'll be able to sterilise everyone and live out his life. I suppose that's a fair assumption, given that he can change the memories of all Eldians and essentially control them.

But even if Levi's dead, there's still Mikasa. She's immune to the King's power. She could defeat Zeke, Titanise an Eldian and have them eat him, thus restarting the cycle.

There are too many things that could go wrong. Zeke's plan's quite flimsy, at least right now.

Kinda interesting, all in all sterilizing people probably wouldn't be the worst way to end things. Like sure, just getting them all proper treatment and equal respect would be ideal end game, though lot harder to execute on. But "unable to have kids and die naturally of old age" isn't necessarily that bad of a fate.

I'm really beginning to wonder if we'll ever get an actual explanation for the science-magic going on right now.

I have this funny feeling that the explanation will be disappointing. But at least the mechanics of it all drove a good story.

@Kendama, his plan is too idealistic. He only see's one way, he doesn't think about , that his plan could fail but that's not a surprise seeing how he lived and anyone shaping him the way he is now.

I am looking forward to see , what Eren is actually doing. I cannot believe, that simply following Zeke is, what he wants. Bet he's using him to get something else. Let's seee

Ok so from the looks of it

Levi is going to die no matter what (I mean losing a leg alone is pretty bad, but also being THAT close to the explosion wouldnt have been good for his insides either). And Zeke is going to survive because his head didnt blow up.

Disappointing chapter overall because I couldn't care less about the dude. My question here is If Eren knows any of this. Did Zeke let him in on his plan to essentially kill his own kind? Or is Eren absolutely stupid and being played by Zeke to get his suicidal dream come true? If Eren knows then he is a bigger dumbass, honestly.

I mean we knew he wasn't smart, just lucky and stubborn. But still.

If the author was trying to make me like Zeke, well, it failed :D That said, atleast Zeke has A plan, something that is sorely lacking in pretty much everyone in this series ( even Armin, the suposed smart one, is pretty much being dragged by the events :/ ). Sure it is a bad plan, but it is A plan ....

That said, I'm still waiting for someone to punch some sense into Eren ( double points if it is Misaka ). Seriously, that guy has gone from hot-blooded insuferable brat to simply insuferable goth wannabee :/

Shit in the comment someone said Levi is loosing his leg, I though he is done for. After done reading,
I refuse to believe Levi is going to die, I don't see the piece of his leg in the explosion, the author may draw one leg but possibly the other one is covered due to angle.
Its just a blood splat from his body or Zeke's scattered body. He is still in one piece!
He may got a fatal injury from the explosion but he'll survive! After all HE IS LEVI!

Damn, Levi really underestimated Zeke’s devotion to his cause.
Best case scenario, Levi has been permanently handicapped and can’t fight for the rest of the series.... just please don’t be fatally wounded!
