While it might sound like an exaggeration, I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there went along with having a child just to experience what happens and what it means to become a mother.

Also not the first time I come across something like this in manga. Sorae Igarashi from Deadman Wonderland gave birth to her son only because she needed a human test subject for research purpose, good thing for him that maternal instinct made her change her mind.

Granted, you'd have to be a terrible person to do something like that, but Mizu's mother proved to be plenty horrible pre-stinging.

@Redsaint To be honest, I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for the police, she'd be happy with just having her own posse around her school. Hell, if that one teacher didn't get fucking creepy, everything could have been avoided. That one cop would still be alive, the very fabric of the political system would still be intact, and this girl wouldn't have ended up coming to a school full of Soldiers who will treat her like a friend.

It all traces back to one creepy, perverted teacher getting too handsy. Regardless, I'm happy Himeno is mentally strong enough to bounce back after all that. I'm pretty sure unless it's a defensive reaction to the outside world, or even some people voluntarily becoming Workers, she won't use her stinger too much. Of course, that's hoping a lot from what I can tell of this manga's universe.
