Calling Go as Chess is actually just dumb.
How would referring to something it's not, make it easier to understand?

For you it's easy, but most of the people don't even know what Go is, and there are are some places where it is mistaken to be like going and it sounds weird
I know it's weird and dumb to call Go as chess.... Those are totally two different things...
But please cope up with us...

Chinese chess exists and is called Xiangqi, just call them the actual names, people will look it up and understand if they are confused. Chess and Go are only similar in that they are both strategy games other than that the goals are different, attacks are different, board sizes are different. If the thing is based on Go, in the future they will reference all kinds of things that have to do with the game and it's a disservice to just take out the meaning from that.

Also, the "piano" looks an awful lot like a zither. Just use their real names, it's less confusing.

I think if you let the "Go" name everywhere, and don't change it as Chess, It would have been better, since he will use a Go set all the time, and not a Chess one.
Even if it's two board game, they don't look the same at all, and it will be strange to people who know Chess board and not Go board to see "It's a Chess board" written.

At most, the readers can go look on interned what is Go, and discover "Hikaru no go", at worst, a little "TL: the Go is the Chinese equivalent of Chess" would have been sufficient. 😊

Anyway, thanks for your work, it seem interesting.

We'll look into it...
And do what's best for the next upcoming chapters
We'll rectify the mistakes and make it Go instead of chess
We just want our readers to be satisfied😁

@bss thanks for the translation, and pretty sure you understimate the familiarity about asian stuff on an asian manga site. :) Go is pretty well known.

I only know of "Go" because of the AI matches that were publicised a few years back. I remember asking my Korean wife about Go and she had no idea what it was, she knew of the game under a different name and had never heard the name "Go".

Lol, was starting to think Everlasting Immortal Firmament got a manhua until the old man named himself.

(It irks me when Go/Weiqi is translated as 'Chess', simply adding a note explaining that it's an ancient board game still played to this day is enough to establish the term.)

... Wait a second... this IS Everlasting Immortal Firmament! The Weiqi thing even went between his eyebrows! ... No, regardless of anything else, this protag is clearly a loser compared to Gu Hai (though who isn't?), so I guess it just yanked some elements from EIF.

(Translated Zither as Piano too...)

EDIT: Wtf, Everlasting Immortal Firmament got an anime (or w/e they call it in Chinese)!
EDIT2: Holy shit, they're mangling the series so badly. Just read the novel...
EDIT3: ... Except the novel hasn't been updated in 5 months... oh, god, the future looks bleak...
