So after thinking about this for a bit, I think I'll just do whole chapters (if I were to continue this).

The reasoning for this is because future pages kinda caused me to lose a lot of things in translations.

The goal now is to try to read about 2 chapters ahead before writing out any English translations.

@MooPoint are you translating from the Chinese or Japanese? The romanisation of the Chinese name is Sun Wukong, while romanisation of the Japanese is Son Goku. You mixed the two up when you use "Sun Goku".

@MooPoint that's not quite right since that's if you take "Son" as an English word, rather than the pronunciation of the name. Take SonSon, for example, as another female character that's based on Son Goku/Sun Wukong.

@Maiorem - Surely any name can be used for any gender if one assigns it to a character. I've honestly debated this when I first started translating it, but ended up where I am now. Unless there's a specific reason later for why using the word "Son" in Son Goku's name (or "Wukong" in Sun Wukong)... I'd probably just leave it as is just to differentiate this character from the more canon one(s).

@MooPoint what about the fact that 孫 is literally pronounced "Son" in Japanese?

@Maiorem Well, it can be pronounced many ways. See https://jisho.org/search/%E5%AD%AB%20%23names but I will say that the furigana provided Goku's name in this series is technically そん. In English, son and sun sound fairly similar. In Japanese, すん sounds closer to "soon".

But again, if there's a very specific reason in the story for why having it as "son" is more important than "sun", do tell (in a spoiler tag or something).

Moreover if it really bothers you, you are free to use/modify/etc. my translations and upload your own version of the story yourself.
