Question, cuz I'm not sure about bedroom etiquette for married couples in japan,
is it normal that a married couple has their own futons and not share just one?
EDIT: About their futon situation: yes is normal for couples to have their separate futons/beds. Not everyone does it, probably, but is not strange either.

couples arrange their futons right next to each other (touching), while platonics will leave space between (if the room is big enough for there to be a space)
