MC tries to confess to Hikari multiple times on the trip but is cock blocked by Kuro’s bad luck curse / passive. Another cat god / relative of Kuro shows up and tells Kuro that she can have kids with the MC which would satisfy the 7th gen requirement to break the curse and let Kuro be a god of luck again. Kuro decides to pursue MC in earnest. The other cat god then moves in with MC and starts working at their high school.

Fast forward to the most recent chapter

Kuro has told Hikari that she likes MC and says that if she wins some contest at the upcoming school festival she will confess to MC first. Hikari confronts Kuro the next day, confirms her feelings for MC, and agrees to Kuro’s terms, with Hikari and Kuro reaffirming their close friendship. Meanwhile Kuro has also asked the other cat god to erase the memories of MC, Hikari, and anyone else who knows Kuro after the school festival, regardless of the outcome of Kuro and Hikari’s competition and confessions.

That sounds stupid. I'm considering letting the chapters pile up so I can get through all that quickly. Also, the MC just feels like a plot device and only Kuro and Hikari are actual characters. Maybe baseball dude as well. They're the only ones with actual personality.

We can have good story, good chemistry between characters and engaging drama without the ntr bait. Authors need to grow out of the ntr fetish, there have been so many series without ntr tease and they work fine. No need to forced drama down reader throats to gain engagement tho..
