Huh, seems we've got some extra plot development going on here with this white cat. If I had to guess, this "Nami" will say along the lines of, "Don't fumble this curse job or you'll lose your immortality. That would mean you've got to grow old and die with this new dude you're interested in, and obviously you don't want that. Right?"

Our MC certainly seems to be mustering up his courage now that he's been all but shoved into it. Yet I've read enough of these to grow skeptical of such a bold declaration if the character isn't explicit in what they say initially, and sometimes not even then.

"I've got something important to tell you." Is so vague as to be meaningless. Will he spill the beans about Kuro's nature and the curse? Confess his feelings for Hikari and that he's also into Kuro? Or just chicken out even after all this buildup? It is a cliffhanger, but its the kind of cliffhanger experience has taught me to expect disappointment from.

Agree. This is crap writing intended to elicit an emotional response, without having the quality content and thought to back it up.

It's embarrassing to see Kotaru fall for this obvious trap.
He could easily have answered the jock bastard that there is an obvious difference between them. In Kotaru's case, he has discovered that there are two persons he is interested in, but this is recent, so he hasn't figured out what to do about it. Also, Kotaru is serious.
in the jock bastard's case, juggling a harem without any thought for the girls' feelings, or intention to stay with the "love interest", or seriousness, for that matter - all of these are par for the course, and standard operational procedure.
If the jock doesn't see or understand the difference, well, that's his problem, but Kotaru should tell Kuro this, so she understands what she's doing.
I guess Kuro's actions can be ascribed to innocence, and being new to a human body, and the feelings she has been discovering. But she should understand what her actions will lead to, both for her and for Kotaru (and potentially, for the curse).
Imagine how fun it would be for her if she loses his love, and he also doesn't have any children, so she's locked in the curse cat state.
Yay? Or even Double-yay?

Marumi looks super cute on page 3.

I always feel bad in these stories that they make a cute tomboy side-character and usually she gets nothing except to be yuri-bated over by a segment of the reader-base that automatically assumes that the short-haired non-girly-girl must obviously be there for lesbian fanservice.

I share your concern, but I am cautiously optimistic. I'm rooting for the blonde(?) girl, I feel like this can pretty much go anywhere yeah. Seems next two chapters will either be a make or break it for me.
