kuro meets Nami (white cat god) and makes an agreement that when komachi festival ends, she will ask to erase everyone memories of her, whether she wins or lose from his agreement with hikari (to be explained in chapter 21).
hikari declares she is ready to fight kuro when she meets him on the school roof and promises to confess her love to Koutarou after she defeats kuro. and at the end page, just as explained at the beginning, kuro asks to erase everyone memories of her.

Tbf, he's cursed to be bitchlessthe japanese and their obsession with being cucked really ruins everything. genuinely wish the worst for all these authors pushing these dogshit excuse for plot devices
it sorta makes sense when you remember Koutarou's literally cursed in the romance department - not saying the author specifically had that in mind in that scene, but it technically tracks if that was supposed to be a romantic moment between Koutarou and Hikari.Man, the constant interruption might be kinda funny but it's such a cheap trick at the same time, I do liked the twist that she can give birth and ascend again, that kinda sets her as the winner I think.
Despite that, kinda hard to guess how this is going to go considering the amount of shit this author pulls from his ass.
I really hate the "pair the spare" trope ngl.it sorta makes sense when you remember Koutarou's literally cursed in the romance department - not saying the author specifically had that in mind in that scene, but it technically tracks if that was supposed to be a romantic moment between Koutarou and Hikari.
We don't know if it was (maybe he was gonna decide to confess to Hikari, maybe he was gonna tell Hikari "I like both you and Kuro lolz"), so can't confirm on that, but.
If Kuro is going to be the winner, I have to wonder where Hikari's going to end up, though. Will she just quietly smile and support her crush and friend getting together and fade into the background? Will she get sad and leave the story entirely? Will she end up with Takasu?
Because introducing this "oh bee tea dubs gods can totes bear a mortal's kids" angle fully shuts the CHF out of the running, because the MC fully liked the FMC first, and his suddenly "being conscious" of Hikari nearly felt inorganic and like it was born out of the fact he touched her boob that one time, more than anything else. (Unless I'm forgetting further development, or if he's just overreacting to what Takasu told him in the bathtub on Kuro's orders.) (Then again, Koutarou fell for Kuro after seeing her once from a distance years before and that's the whole of the foundation for his feelings for her, and, yeah.)
But like you said, can't fully guess from this point, so. I just kinda suspect Koutarou's ultimately gonna jerk Hikari along at this rate toward inevitable heartbreak, which remains one of the crueler aspects of this genre in my opinion.
