It has been heavily implied so far that she has been doing this to protect the kingdom and everyone within instead of being the malice.

I am now wondering if what is happening in Alec's home country is exactly what was coming the way to this kingdom but the witch caused whatever it is to stop...and it moved over to Alec's kingdom instead.

I also think that this is being played to be a harem where Alec gets all of the princesses...but I also somehow think the witch is getting added based on prior events between Alec and the witch.

still doesn't make sense why the witch would attack the princesses. it's like she doesn't even know it's them. for supposedly being a friend to their mother, you'd think said mother would brag about them and the witch would figure out it's her friend's daughters. cuz she doesn't just aim her attacks at Alec alone. so no, i ain't convinced and i'm making a "burn on stake" faction until something changes

Eh, best guess is that she is unaware that the girls running around are the princesses. There is the possibility she only met them all once when they were really little and can't recognize them now that they are older. Also to add to it is everyone has been asleep for a long time. The witch probably wouldn't even think it was possible that anyone was able to wake up so she just assumes everyone there is an interloper and not from the kingdom.

Poor Elisa. While she's usually happy-go-lucky, she's also been the most worried about not hurting her sisters' feelings regarding their sudden guest. Back in the day it was about not accepting him before others did, now she's afraid about love triangles. Nothing that a harem ending can't solve.
