The dude will die of cancer before he hits 50. But like he said, why would he need to be concerned about it? He kind of reminds me of a person I once knew. That guy's one and only hobby was smoking. He probably had the perfect BMI, but he couldn't run 400 meters without looking like he would drop dead in great pain.

@Opticalwinter Her resourcefulness suggests, to me, that she didn't have a parent who would have taken care of the daily things, she had to do it on her own, with a minimum budget.

I have a feeling her explanation of her experience with her mother may be true, or something along those lines, so imo, probably even worse than just a shitty neglectful mother or the like.
But also a lot of other possible variations I could imagine, given the end result.
