This chapter's title is based on a 1985 track called "Act Natural" by Don Grolnik.
Being released in the 80s, the sound of this jazz tune strays a bit from the hard bop of the 50s. However, it's smooth synth backing gives it a unique sound, and Michael Brecker's sax solo makes it a great fit for Blue Giant.
Take a listen to it below:

Nice, thanks. Always great to see the references in the comments. Synth in jazz? Dope, never knew it could fit into one, I'm no expert in jazz nor could call myself as even a casual listener . Guess thats what "act natural" is, synth in jazz. 😁

In all honesty, Jazz music is kind of the basis for all of the music which came after it.
Artists kept building upon Jazz's foundation, and took the structure, melodies, and tone of jazz and applied it to many different genres.
Or, to put it another way... Jazz is musical theory in it's purest form.
Once you really start to get into jazz, you can really start to hear it in all sorts of music.
