Are y'all actually this daft? Almost literally everything on this website is illegal, don't single something out just because you're upset it's not what you wanted. Rereading Berserk is an annual tradition for me, so being able to go back and read some of these earlier chapters with a better image quality and more consistent translation, even if that translation makes certain choices I don't agree with, is a freaking godsend.

@mungobungo typically fan translations are considered a grey area especially if a series isn't available in said language officially. Copy/pasting the official English translation to your (worse quality) raws is not a grey area. This is hardly different than ripping the digitals and uploading them, which is not allowed on MangaDex. If you enjoy reading the series so much that you re-read it yearly and you want it in higher quality, you should consider supporting the official releases.

Hey all, just wanted to clear a couple things up:

1) Our intention was always to remaster Berserk from the beginning, not publish new chapters. Apologies if there was any misunderstanding, but we’ve never advertised otherwise.
2) Our releases are based on the Japanese raws, which are higher-quality art than any official English release. The translations are based on the official English translation, with improvements made where necessary.

So I just went through and compared the first 10ish pages of this. It is a word for word copy of the official. Also translating raw for "Higher quality" is kinda bullshit. The official manga darkhorse version actually looks better and less washed out then this one. The only thing I can say that they have done a better job of is redrawing the text that's not in text bubbles.

@BerserkRemastered ignoring the mostly direct translation rip, down to which words are bolded/emphasized (from what I bothered checking through), what exactly do you find higher quality about the art? Do you just mean that some of the colored pages aren't greyscale, or is there something else I'm missing? Your release is significantly lower resolution and seems to be extremely bright and washed-out, erasing many details from the art. It's especially noticeable where characters are in a dimly lit area with a single light source. The improvements aren't apparent to me, so could you point them out? This isn't intended to bully you or anything, I'm sure you felt you were improving upon something when making this release, so I'd like to know what you think some of the obvious improvements are.
