@BROTHEGAMER yeah fuck you, the translation and the quality of the "official" scans is absolute shit, and there are actual explanations for the names like the title and characters here. Fan translations are superior in every way, I'm not reading that garbage. Official translations should not be worse in every single way than fan translations where they don't get paid anything for doing this other than with our gratitude that we can read a properly translated version.

@stebsis Calm down I'm the one who uploaded this chapter in the 1st place. I only linked the official for clarification that it's out due to mangadex's new rules

Your intentions were pure stebsis... but lol.

Also, because of the "improved scan" thing, couldn't help but notice some grammatical errors on the last page. Still the translation itself was worlds better than the 'official' one. And you'd think they'd atleast manage to display the double spread of such an impactful scene properly, but no. sigh

@pachupach
He mentioned something about a boat and Kaidou, so I’m assuming it was some sort of deal to get Kaidou out and... a boat.

At least the fan translation made the double page joint unlike the dumbass so-called "official" translation.

I dunno why Oden chose to do what he did, but if he thought that they were going to honor any kind of agreement, then he really is the idiot lord

@goodhunter Kaido and Orochi took the people of Wano as hostages (they just shot and blinded two people, but if they wanted, they could just kill massacre everyone in wano), and as long as Oden kept acting like a fool, they would honor the agreement that they wouldn't kill anyone. But that went south after they killed Hyou's wife and men, and to Oden, that was the last straw.

At first I thought they gave Oden a Smile fruit because he acted like that. And was there there some sort of deal about the "Kaido and a Boat" comment?

Anyway, thanks for the release. I'm glad I could read it with real doublepages.

I don't like this chapter, it's out of character for Oden the "chad".
When I read the spoilers, I thought he was imprisoned by the Bari-Bari fruit user and the dancing fool was actually the Clone-Clone user.

I think Oda-sensei ruined Oden's character

Oden presumably wanted a boat so that he could leave Wano. He basically had no reason to stay in Wano after realising he couldn't defeat Orochi (without mass civilian casualties). The agreement was probably something like this:
'Act like a fool for 5 years [so that you lose support] and do not cross me. In return, (1) I won't harm the civilians, (2) I will deal with Kaidou, and (3) I will give you a boat.'

Shinobu was listening when this happened. I'm curious to know what she was doing there and what she will do as a result.

How much longer will oda extend this arc? Can't he rush this and just show the war, he ruined oden's character too

@havelmom probably Orochi played him with Kaido. I.e. something like "you play the fool, and I'll spare the innocents" kind of deal.

Man, I enjoyed this read so much more than the "official" release. The inclusion of properly displayed double-pages, as well as the footnotes for names, which include cultural or historic references, really elevates the overall experience tremendously. There are a few grammatical errors or mispellings (you don't drink tee, you drink tea) but it's nothing that a good proofreader/QC couldn't fix. I really want to read and enjoy the official release; however, the way it is now simply isn't good enough for me to support exclusively. I still get a better overall experience from scans. I do read the official as well, but more for a different flavor and to show support.
Thank you for the release and the work! Hope you'll continue.
As for story, i'm kind of hoping Oda picks the pace up a bit. It feels a bit self-indulgent so far in Wano (he's earned it, though). Although, almost all of the New World arcs have seemingly been considerably longer than the Paradise and East Blue ones -- so I don't think that will change. I'm still really enjoying it all, though! It's great to watch puzzle pieces put into place and see threads connecting back many years ago. Can't help but wonder what his notes look like to keep track.
