I know Uraka isn't everyone's favorite, but her and Nariyuki have a long history, as this shows. It may be why he stood up for her when some other boys were dissing her back in Jr. Hi. because of this untold tale. I mean, he was going through some heavy shit already, with his dad dying. Most of you can't relate, but I can: we lost Dad when I was 13, nearly 50 years ago. We don't see her thoughts here, as we're only looking at Nariyuki's memories of that day, but you can bet she knew about the loss of his father, and wanted to make a classmate feel better. Somewhere, she'd seen him smile, but with the death of his father, it looks like she made it her mission in life to help him through it. Just a friend, but with him standing up for her against other boys, and defending her to help her get through school because she worked so hard on her swimming, she fell for him like a ton of bricks. They make the best pair as each was there for the other for no other reason than to help. I wonder what he'll imagine his dad will say about this. You know that is coming.
The others? [ul]
Sensei? No. They'll respect each other throughout their lives, as friends and colleagues.
Senpei? She's flirted too much, and, IMHO, has gone too far. She'll likely end up marrying an idealistic doctor that she meets in med school: one willing to help her with the clinic.
Ogata? Nariyuki taught her to look at her feelings. Life isn't a mathematical formula, and people have feelings and need to understand them.
Furihashi? possibly the one person that is similar and yet the opposite of Nariyuki. Nariyuki got her and her father to finally connect by connecting Furihashi with her mother and the memories of her. If he doesn't reciprocate with Uraka, then Furihashi would be the best of the harem[/ul]
