Looking at Roy practicing the void, I wonder if his father is also doing the void. There's still not much interaction with his father for now so it's hard to read him; I guess for now he remains the distant, scary and dedicated to his work man.
I'm a bit confused about his older brother calling him "Roy-sama".
That is a lot of horses but it does make sense for such carriages. I was surprised to see the family separated in two carriages and the appearance of servants also traveling with them, who we hadn't seen for the initial stretch of the journey.
Still, it gave another opportunity for Roy to talk with Elsa, and we got to learn a lot more about the family, and the fact that the marriage was political in nature. She's quite charming. It also makes sense how dedicated she is to her work, since she was otherwise quite alone, and it was the very reason the Aveiram family brought her in so there must be expectations that she will continue to deliver results and bring prestige to their family. It's also interesting to hear that she does keep tabs on what her sons are doing since she was aware of the election; though it might just be that some of her colleagues brought it up to her rather than her hearing it from her husband.
The first carriage was cleanly sliced. I wonder who is the attacker and why they would act alone. They must have known the Aveiram would be well escorted, by elites apparently. Roy freaking out, with his mana being depicted makes me wonder if he'll do something here too, though Elsa calmed him down quickly. I'm surprised that Elsa is confident the situation will resolve itself positively when she's apparently able to tell that there's only one attacker. A single person having the gall to attack the Aveiram seems worrisome in itself. Moreover, it appears that Roy's father is handling the attacker by himself, and the combat is fast paced since they're moving all over the place. It seems that Roy's father is quite strong, and Elsa is perhaps also quite capable of fighting with magic. We can at the very least tell she's quite research minded since she is carefully assessing and observing the situation. I guess the fast movement and friction is generating static electricity with the dry air?
It really doesn't seem likely at all, since there are so many soldiers around, his father and mother but I wonder if Roy might show off his ability to physically enhance himself with magic with yet another tackle. I imagine that his father would definitely reproach him again for taking such actions but realise that Roy will just act as he pleases. He would then proceed to train Roy in martial arts/swordsmanship himself during this summer vacation. Then again, he might decide to do this even if Roy doesn't take any action here just because it's a good idea to ensure every member of the family can defend themselves considering the dangers that come with their position of leadership.
Anyways, I'm definitely looking forward to the next chapter to see how this attacker situation gets resolved. The attacker seems to have a sword, but they seem to be charging up a magic attack, which Elsa is reacting to, so it might be something quite dangerous that is about to be unleashed.
I wonder what that bag of powder the attacker had was about; he just poured it in his palm then back into the pouch (a cremated person, perhaps? Otherwise some sort of enhancement drug.). It was a super strange initial page for the chapter, though once the attack occurred, it was clearly linked.
