I can only agree with that sentiment, though. That flashback was pretty annoying.

Oda could have done this whenever, intead he pulled a Naruto on us, starting a flashback right before the big show down.

Well, I'm looking forward to the big battle. I'm interested to see what kind of twists and turns Oda comes up with in the next months

Sadly I have to agree, this falshback could have been done better. Oda did a lot of weirds things trying to make Oden loved by anyone, also I don't believe that Whitebeard and Shanks did nothing to get revenge on Kaido after what happened.

I guess you haven't seen that they've been constantly hating on the arc with MULTIPLE one line comments in every chapter comment section, and I'm not here trying to write essays to explain the significance of these flashback arcs to each one of them. If you can dish out criticism to me and not them, then it honestly makes it look like you're echoing their sentiments indirectly, in which case I'm open to further discussion.

@KingRagnarok Whitebeard didn't pursue revenge even when one of his men killed another one. He was too cautious, and Kaido was on the rise. Shanks was still too young back then. And, well, news don't fly easily from a very closed country.

@flashmozzg so if you look back at the Kaidou vs Oden Chapter, when the reveal happens ( that the Hag is Momo) Kaido looks genuinely surprised (in my headcanon at least lol). But he said "fuck it i already beat his ass" and went with it. So i assume it still hurt his pride and therefore he killed her and wanted to tell Oden/ show Oden with that gesture that he still has some pride left, before he kills him. (Purely speculative ofc) but yeah
