So many great moments in these two volumes! Ukaku and Rin's relationship is great, the bit where Rin "died" and saw Sumino having to go beyond a kiss. And of course Ukeshi and Sugata's relationship. I was pretty excited to see that Rin didn't get killed off, too, it would've been really upsetting for her to lose to pros after we just saw a shinkenshi beat a meijin.
Speaking of that plot point, I wonder how big shogi fans in Japan would like this manga. Would that be a step too far for them?

I know that it's adapted to live action, but only 12 episodes J-dorama or something. Basically focuses on the relationship between soyo and sugata's relationship. It's like adapting Samurai Flamenco to live action but stopping just before King Torture's appearance ?.

I might check it after this, it might be fun to see a more down to earth reinterpretation of the over the top series.

vv To be fair, the manga did start out pretty normal. I almost want to reread it from the beginning with the knowledge I now have of how far out of control things get.
