From someone who actually did bodybuilding in high school, you do not want to push your body too hard. You can suffer serious injury and even heat stroke. You work muscle groups and then let those groups rest so your body can properly regenerate stronger. The rest period is important for growth. And whatever you do, do NOT get massaged after a good workout, especially if your still in the beginning phase. You may end up pushing that lactic acid your body is excreting into your joints! That will fuck up your week.
Last bit of advice, make sure you have something in your stomach before working out, like an energy bar or similar size, hell even a McDonald's cheese burger is good enough (no joke, it needs to be small but big enough to last throughout the workout). If you don't and you push yourself, you may throw up.
even though I mentioned mcdonald's nasty food, it actually doesn't matter too much what you eat as long as you balance it and not over eat.
