Healer? No, more like evasion-type tank with counteroffensive skills.
I think that previous party had been tricking him all along.

They don't have a bad healer problem. They have a preparation problem. You know your healer can't cure poison, so you stock on poison-curing medicine like mundanes.
If reward for fighting a hydra doesn't pay off for using poison-curing medicine, you pass on that quest.
Adventuring isn't all about being a musclebrain. It's also about picking your fights and preparing for them. If you can't do that, you should be a knight or a soldier.

What kind of asshole/idiot trains defense and close combat skills and then tells his party he's a healer? His former party is absolutely NOT in the wrong here. Pick a flippin' lane and stick to it.

@Sunny-iwnl Ah, I could have sworn that I already read this. And as I remember that translation was just as bad as this one.

@sjmcc13 Of course its not a normal heal. He won't be OP otherwise.

That being said, having a special type of "Mass Cure Wounds" that has additional effect like buffs, cures debuffs, range +, etc doesn't make him a "healer" if he also actively tanks and detect trap... both of which requires him to be at the frontlines. You even said that party needs a healer and a tank to replace him.

If you are going to tank, the only person you would heal is usually yourself. Since you are going to tank, you would also stand in the frontlines focusing on your enemy. Not exactly a good spot for watching out for when your teammates get hurt.

Its like being Flynn Scifo from Tales of Vesperia. You have First Aid. Even if you upgraded that one First Aid spell to an AoE spell that can also heal status effects, would he become your healer? Nope. 90% of the time, Flynn would be slapping monsters with his sword while an actual healer does the dedicated healing.

@akthrowaiz leaving the equipment is most likely due to the party buying it or simple greed. force out the weak and take what is thiers or simply kill them all standrard kick out of party type story hooks...

that said i swear to god this feels like i have read alot of it then it went away now it is coming back...

Leaving the equipment is a JRPG trope. If you know someone's leaving the party, you take all the good equipment from them.

Also, wasn't this already posted once?

Maybe it's just the translation, but this feels like it's Chinese - It reminds me of those garbage cultivation manhua.

Why the japs love this 'super strong combat healer' trope so much, i'll never know. It really is not that interesting, and holy fuck are most of the manga with it ever dog shit.

@sjmcc13 so who's the redhead lady in the back?
Thinking about reading the translated ln, kinda feel like they only focus on healer guy and karate girl tho

Not to sound rude but I dont understand why indonesians and thailandese people even bother translating something they are not proficent in doing really, worst part is 90% of them does it using mtl, like, no man, just no.

So he's not a healer, he's a paladin. Then again, he claims to also be able to detect traps and be a jack of all trades.
It looks like he has a bad case of extremely low INT since he should be making his main occupation what he is the most proficient as (then again, he might be seen as a defect in all other occupations too).

@HakuChute: Because in general a Healing only Healer isn't that useful in a party, so most MMORPG's actually make it so that Cleric's or similar class have good amount of DPS to do good damage.

The Korean MMORPG (localized to English) i play actually once made it so that the Cleric was the best of all classes, because not only it used Chain armour (meaning both good Physical and Magic defense), but could heal itself and its group members and even out-dps classes like Sorcerer if the gear is set up right in both PvE and PvP.
Most high ranked Cleric's in that game used to have 2 gear sets (4 in total for PvP and PvE), one for Healing/Support and the other for DPS.
Even after many nerf, it still is one of the top magical class with high DPS, as long as one has good gears and in-game money to power the gears.

@Kireato

Dungeons and Dragons clerics can wield maces, shields, and wear armor. A lot of these LN/Manga use D&D as inspiration, including Goblin Slayer. In this story, like a lot of others, this guy appears to have become the workhorse of his party. He isn't fantastic as a healer since he spent his time learning... everything... that a party needs to function, his min/maxed ex-party members are likely helpless without him.

So.. his healing is not that potent but at least decent and he can also tank at ease? ain't he a healing tank then (like an archetype in arknights or paladin in other games)? why is he so fixated in promoting himself as a healer after being kicked by the party when he knows that he got better hands in another field? kinda dumb to stay silent about something important like that.
