I know this is all super fakey science, but I would have liked them to explain how kissing resolves the whole mouth/tongue drying leading to some kind of asphyxia event disease. Like does he need someone else's spit? If that was the case there are other ways to get it without kissing, although kind of gross, may be worth it if his life does indeed depend on it.
