It's a good idea, but poor in its execution.
Everything is slanty angles and way too high intensity.
Especially considering all we see are buildups and denouements, but never any actual on-panel struggle.
PROTAGONIST: "I'm going to do my hardest!"
(some stuff happens that we don't get to see)
PROTAGONIST: "Huh. I guess my hardest wasn't good enough. But I'll do even better next time!"
Honestly, I'm not sure why people keep trying this in Shonen magazines. Maintaining a child's attention with a story about an adult's job is difficult work at cross-purposes.
