I mean, the weapon still has a point. Even a spoon is capable of piercing someone if used correctly, most people just don't have the strength to do it, so it's crazy, but not too crazy. Honestly, the lack of reaction from the "protagonist" is what's truly concerning.

Also for the teacher that does not react the prota say she will be fine in a day so we can assume health magic is a thing and so those injuries are just part of the reality of fighting and so training in a sense
