I honestly think they have more of a siblings relationship than a couple.

Like, apart from the kissing scenes, which are "staged" and fairly stiff.
Their natural interactions are peculiarly sibling-like, in the non-dangerous way.

They bicker, but get along, but there's no tension.
Frankly, I've seen more tension in a player playing the horse Prince game.
