You seem to forget this is the same girl that from the onset had the sole objective to "rip his confidence as a man into pieces by lying until he kneels".
Part of the entire joke in my comment was to focus on when she decided to lie with good intentions, instead on when she decided to lie with malicious intentions. Because the contrast is funny.

plus how it all the while highlighted how that even if that was not the case the behaviour actually is despicable even in a vacuum, since all it does is set up the other person for future (and possibly consistent) failure, particularly in regards to their presentation towards yourself. Not to mention that lying itself is always bad, no matter your intentions or results.
