Fuusuke makes my heart hurt I feel so bad for him): and I know she’s trying, but I wish she would at least read a book or google how to raise a kid and how to handle a child going through grief like goodness. Also she could’ve given the teacher a heads up that he’s a little different so tell the kids to be nice/give him space.

i wouldn't know about japanese culture since i'm chinese american, but that kind of dynamic in primary school doesn't work. some kids don't understand that people have their own circumstances or have no filter/consistent morals whatsoever when they're working with other people (not that this applies to every child ever)
@hobisflower
from what i gather about japanese culture, though, is that people have a tendency to conform and act as a group and drive out what is different, which is derived from Confucianism. (topic: japanese confucianism).

Both of these characters really need some therapy and some bonding time.

I had forgotten about this Manga. I really do like. It hits close to home at times.

@mimicking ahh but sadly that's how most kids in Asia has that dynamic. It's very rare to see kids that has grown sense of personal space since the community concept and the thoughts of having to blend in is heavily drilled here. In Japan no matter who you are if you have a tattoo you cannot enter some public area like the pool, people will gang you up with you being a gangster. That's how much they will discriminate if you act differently in their community. A school is a small society so...

@banhchuoi mm, i know. i just wanted to focus on japanese culture since it specially pertains to this series ^^;; fax no printer, conformity to the point of unconsciously driving out nonconformists is terrifying. i think this can be applied to a lesser extent to other cultures outside of asia too

a school is just a microcosm of society. it has hierarchies made more extreme than actual society because of its smaller and easier to influence community.

edit: i didn't know how to spell ur name lmao

@mimicking yes and how much I wanted to break that cycle, I myself was a victim of this hierarchy though nothing similar with the boy.

It's a traditional sweet in vietnam made from banana. Lmao I just name whatever so don't worry much about it
