As you will see at the top of page 1, the have decided to make Toaru Ossan into an anime. No release date yet, but the decision was made around Feb 10th I believe. So something to look forward too.

The Light novel has like 26 books and manga is working on the 11th...

I have no idea, my belief is at least 2 years. Although I would love to start on translating the LN, but waiting for a certain program to be updated

only the first 112 chapters got translated before they were taken from ncode.syosetu.com and went to alphapolis...

alphapolis has basically launched 27 books from the web novel into light novels. the author is still going with the web novel too which can be read for free... but once its put into an LN, then its a pay for reading...

to the creators of the game, sure... since its not up to specs for the clients...

It feels like the client are some type of noob god, an weird AI that like SIMs, or just an alien civilization
and the users like beta testers having a virtual body in an isekai world like in the videogame CrossCode

I'm be cynical here, whoever is the client is probably going to just f-up the world for personal gains or just for kicks. Then again, they could just be funding this to see if they can extract resources albeit of the fantastical kind. Thus then sell these miraculous things to the rich and powerful or offer a limited timed entry to play around in the world.

Who knows. Maybe old dude will get the "seed" of the world from goddess to keep the game going.

Unless the players have abandoned the game on their own by then, the dev will gain a whole lot of hate if they just suddenly close the game off for the majority of the players. I wonder just what kind of a studio it is to not care at all. Maybe it's an EA branch office in Japan, haha. EA seems to be proud of being called one of the worst companies in the world.

From what it sounds like, it being an online game is just a cover, and the real purpose of the project is to create sentient AIs. They're using the "game" as a way to feed natural-yet-controlled human interaction into the system without dumping the contents of the internet into the system (we all know how that usually turns out).

When they shutdown the game portion the current AIs will most likely only have contact with each other, newer AIs, and specific staff members meant to monitor them from inside the system.
