I thought he just wanted to do enjoyable things, yet he complains. Not to mention how he was the only one to beat that dungeon as a solo 'party' but he can't take quests for groups of 3?Why is he working?
Honestly, if I had a long day at work, wanted to chill out in a game, but was semi-forced to do "even more work" during my incredibly limited free time? I'd absolutely lose it. Even if he loses out on some money by not taking any jobs, it's worth it.
Busting tables during a busy time is hell. You'd need to have a very peculiar mentality to just "go with the flow" on that sort of a thing.
You pretty much explained it yourself, it depends on how "awful" it is, and how much do you enjoy a certain task.Depends on your day job I guess. I know a few people on salary making over $100k USD who still occasionally pick up weekend shifts at a bar/restaurant. It isn't terrible if the people you're serving aren't terrible, so I could see the appeal of doing it online.
It's like people who do accounting or trading all day, and somehow manage to find Spreadsheet Simulator (aka Eve Online) fun.
And your hustle-culture friends won't sympathize with a Japanese MC, who literally just wants to "live a relaxed life".
A chaotic night shift isn't very relaxed..
My friends aren't doing restaurant work for hustle money; the whole point in bringing up their salary is that the occasional shifts basically amount to a rounding error in income. There's also a difference between a busy night at a restaurant and a terrible night filled with assholes. I'd say a busy night that doesn't have problem customers is pretty mindless for some people, but you've already stated you think they'd be of a peculiar mentality, so no point trying to argue with you. Are you unwilling to accept people will have different perspectives general? I hate physical labor and find it awful, but I can see that some people find it relaxing and fulfilling.
All I'm saying is that not everybody thinks what MC is doing is unreasonable if you try to look at it from his perspective, but then again, some people in the forums seem to get frustrated at him for not willingly accept the sexual assault by the fairy queen.
