What do those racist Loong have against Pikasha? They are all idiots. If someone has an ally that would willingly help to make work easier, it's pure foolishness to shun that ally and make the work needlessly harder. Such backwards cretins, the lot of them.

While I agree with the accepting help from those that want to help the Loong Trial is to reconize one for their own strenght and not for their capacity to work with others so that he has to do things by himself makes sense as it would show his aptitude and make him stronger, wich is the point of the trial to begin with.

@mahtan Except that there were no trials to prove anything, just a string of odd but perfectly normal jobs. Furthermore, some of them were the like of: "People are suffering from this disease and need a herb to cure them. Don't take your ally with you even if it ensured getting the remedy, instead go by yourself even if it creates a risk of failing to get the herb and the sick people continuing to suffer." What the hell? Priorities, folks! Elsewhere he did the work more fit for a horse and a carriage, which would have suited Pikasha just fine, and once again it wasn't any trial, just craftsmen needing to get things transported. I'm sure they would have preferred to save time and avoid the risk of the stuff getting dropped and damaged. If I was judging this stuff, I'd place a higher priority on the needs of the people requiring help, not the MC trying to prove something.

Not to mention the result of it all was basically betraying his old friend by leaving her out of everything. He should have never listened to that "advice".

Again, you have a point and I agree with you but there is one thing you seem to be forgetting and that is that this is a "game".
As such game balance is important and some times you can't take the NPC helper to missions with you.

@mahtan I'd fully agree with you if this game was a bit more like a traditional game. In that case he might have even failed the "quests" despite technically clearing them. However, the game is all AI driven. I have a feeling that if in this game you got a mission to acquire 10 wolf pelts, but failed to find wolves and instead got 10 bear belts, you could actually convince the quest giver to accept the bear pelts instead. No game of ours would typically have such an option, or if there was, it would be pre-scripted (possibly on purpose for that very mission). Keeping that in mind, if he had made some of the more critical missions more secure with Pikasha, it should have been a positive sign in the Loong eyes (like he wanted to make absolutely sure they will succeed). I'm not saying he should have done it all the time, as he apparently did pull off a lot of odd jobs, but at least enough not to insult Pikasha.

The thing is tho:
1. Pikasha begrudgingly agreed with Uryu that he needs training. Leaving Pikasha 'at home' was not a part of the trial, but a part of Uryu's training regimen.
2. The herb mission was supposed to be smooth sailing, right until the moment it all went haywire.
3. IMO that (helping people with requests) became a priority mission not just for the heck of it, but to deepen the relationships between the species, partly because humans were acting estranged. Because, remember, for players it's just a game, while for loongs it is a diplomatic gesture of opening their borders for the people of their neighboring country and engaging in international exchange.
