E-mails from unknown senders often contain malware / viruses / etc. so it's good not to open them (and especially attachments) anyhow. Even innocuous seeming things like pdf files and Microsoft Office files.

The kind of data breaches, ransomware, hacking, and cryptolocking of files and such might make you prefer the suicide monkey with a meat spoon if you work in IT for a compromised company or school or especially hospital.
