I don't think a squeegee is peak snow removal equipment. You're better off with a brush of some kind so it can move more at once. Like a big, soft-bristled push-broom.

Also is the author a guy or a girl? Avatar is big booba demon lady like from that other series they do, but references being a salaryman. Now it might just be a translation issue and the term isn't meant to be gender-specific but simply is as a holdover from when the profession was nothing but guys (and using "OL" is a bit loaded since it carries a whole whack of implications), or is it just that the author uses a variant of one of their own characters as an avatar regardless of the gender difference?

Snowbrushes I'm used to is similar to the one she used except it is more like a broom on the other side.
The rubber squeegee side is really useful for getting bits of water and ice off the windshield before it freezes back on.

That squeegee provokes more questions than answers :thonk:
Basically, if you have to warm the car a bit there'll be a layer of water under the snow and ice since that'll be melting first. That wipes the water away before it can be frozen again. The other side is likely a rough rubber or cloth to force off the little ice chunks when pushing away the initial layer, I'd say plastic but those usually end up being more of a scraper build than a bulbous end like that.

The non-squeegee side looks like it's just a foam sponge, like the windshield washing implement you'd find at a self-serve car wash or in the bucket offered at a gas station by the pumps. Great if your windows are dirty, but not really suited to pulling large amounts of stuff (like snow) off of the glass. You want a brush to sweep the snow off, then a squeegee to pull the water off once the car is warm enough to melt the interior layer or small amounts of melted snow that remain. Maybe you need a scraper if it froze into a layer of ice and needs to be broken, but those are often more trouble than they're worth.
