It's from a POV of a priestess who's from the start, was afraid of death and war, she made it clear. What do you want her to do? Although given the assurance, things are far more worse than what she signed up for. It would for sure, affect her mental health even though she is powerful with divine powers. As someone, who came from a modern world, died and reborn, and grew up inside a temple, these scenes will be traumatic.
