When I read the first few chapters of the novel and read some spoilers on what happened to them inside the tower, I almost teared up. It's just so pitiful. I've read plenty of novels with child abuse tags/scenes, but I can confidently say this is one of the most heart-clenching. I don't dare imagine what the kids go through.
