It's actually amazing, they introduced them and have them spill a significant amount of their plans and showcase their clearly malicious intent against the world in front of the guy they know is a superpowered returnee. They didn't even try to lull him into a false sense of comfort, they just let it rip.

If I'm being charitable it could be that the "Takeru" is usually someone who has an already unstable mind and the trauma of developing their power is supposed to make them more unstable? If they explain that in future I'll be less critical of how ham fisted this is.
