We already established as a baseline that they appear by taking over a person's body ergo stealing someone's life. And that they all have hunger to eat humans, just some are capable of handling it better than others. There is no reason to trust any of them at all or anything they say, especially without evidence. Then again, he can't defeat Susanoo yet because of that domain of god thing, but if you know an opponent has the ability to avoid your detection and enter a space that goes beyond all of your awareness including magical awareness. You would think you'd take some extra additional measures outside of just a single marker.

Seems more like a fast-paced manga to me, it's keeping the same rhythm since the beginning, and it doesn't seem like we're missing too much information. Tbh it feels refreshing, I read too much manga who are either slow-paced or no progress-paced.

If I remember correctly, in Japanese mythology Kushinada (Kushi Inada Hime), and also a deity, is the last of the 8 daughters that were offered to Orochi (8 headed serpent) to save a certain village. At this time, Susanoo was banished and wandering around the world. He decided to help this village and by tricking Orochi to drink strong sake and get intoxicated, he was able to defeat all of the heads and rescue her. And from Orochi's tail he got the Kusanagi (Grass-Parting) no Tsurugi (sword/blade).
