the dad, grandmother, the former teacher
all are the problems
same as the daughter for not being able to grow a spine
sure i feel sad for the Fmc but even after 'being an adult'
she was the same,. hard to sympathize too much with the pathetic attempts of running away
and why not go to the police with all the evidence and she could corroborate the story with past classmates and former teacher

as for the mother, probably later down the story it will be revealed that she was like that because of her mother
thats why she was lying & trying the make the daughter into a doctor
so she could please her mom or whatever similar backstory

I even mentioned 'being an adult,' but it wasn't good for you
Should you give another 20-year grace period?
Should I judge her when she is 40 and think about why she is still living with her and accepting abuse?
She had evidence and could just run away...
She wouldn't have ended up killing her mother nor be in jail
going to the police, the professor, her dad, or anything else...
Options were there...
And the main thing is that she was defiant to her mother in many situations...

You can very much permanently break a person and prevent them from ever developing what they'd need to survive or grow by systematically abusing them as a child. It's not simply a matter of enough time passing.

Killing and dismembering someone and being able to smile and say that they still love them doesn't seem to me to be the behavior of someone who was able to develop properly.
She tries to play at running away, 'fix' her grades, get into another university. But that is not her rebelling, she cannot break free, 17 years of abuse up to that point have seen to that.
She is just trying to avoid punishment.
You clearly cannot understand how much your formative years can fuck you up mentally.
