Not sure if that was an intentional outcome but I remember Sou stating that he understands what's going on at some level but stop himself from fully realizing it/acting on it, fearing he would turn into the unlikable asshole of the 18+ version. There's a line he doesn't want to cross, especially with his family.

Plus, considering his thoughts about Maria, he's a very pure Boi who highly regard women and would isolate himself if they turned out to be superhorny freaks. Which they unfortunately are in this universe.

Can't believe I gave this kind of thoughts to a stupid gag manga, but this one be compelling.

That's what I've been saying since the beginning.
He's pretty much aware of what's going on at some extent, but forcefully ignoring all the signs thinking that if he acted on his impulse he'll totally become a different person altogether.
In short, he's basically just coping all along and in denial to protect his haven as former orphan, and especially his sanity.

Tho to be fair, in the "Abnormal" (R-18 Fantia) route, he's not actually become a total unlikeable jackass either. He still kinda respected what the women wanted from him as he's doing their personal requests (albeit not all of them) as you can see his relationship with Hinata, he forced himself to have sex with Kaede while she panicked thinking that he would ditch her, and even Sakura herself said that this Onii-chan is still too kind while she wanted him to be much rougher with her in bed.
