Most men in that world are traumatized but that's cause the novel actually explores shit to a logical conclusion. There's a reason there's a guard system in said novel. IDT Kisa is willing to make an entire history of the world and explain a bunch of shit since they're not writing a masterpiece novel that puts effort into worldbuilding.

There have been a couple “rare men” population and “reverse chastity” novels but I guess it tends to lead to more harems while the non r18 ver of Sou is blissfully ignorant otherwise (tho the 1:5 story doesn’t seem that wild in comparison compared to 39 to one guy but maybe bc I’m used to seeing 50/50 here)

Tho population aside I wonder if there’d be “female eunuchs” as adults that’d be required to remove their reproductive system for life long guards versus just police officers also wearing chastity belts or so

Tho I wonder, prolly won’t get into it as a manga, if there are “sterile men”’in this world just treated as women or so if not ignored unless them just existing is enough despite not providing dna to continue the population

I did see one novel that was like “I got laid by the most popular girl in school bc she said it was easier to ask out a plain guy than a handsome one” so yeah a lot of wish fulfillment there versus stuff that gets into downsides

You might wanna reread cuz Suzuki said “youngest older sister” not younger sister. A few chapters before he stated that he is the youngest child in his family.

The 1:5 example of men getting cocky and abusive is the more realistic scenario, the closest real examples we have are generational gaps in societies that went to war and nearly completely depopulated their male demographics in certain age groups. And war has a weird way of consuming the best men first. The women left behind are then competing with older and younger girls, while scum from abroad see them as easier targets with less competition.

With regards to eunuchs, the main issue with that was more to determine heir legitimacy than anything. In reverse world stories women's reproductive value is usually pretty low and the only ones who would probably care about female staff getting pregnant would be official wives and concubines, who probably wouldn't get much of a say. Chastity belts for men's safety makes more sense.

Thus, the crux of the reverse moral self insert fantasy is born: "I'm not like the other guys/girls. If it were me, I'd be nice!". Which I, ashamedly, enjoy. it's kind of like those mobile puzzle game ads where the guy keeps making obvious mistakes and it tricks you into wanting to do it yourself properly.
