well it makes sense. My high school had 4000 students. I can't imagine a very healthy school system where only 100 women were at the school. It'd be like any of those Smurf parodies with Smurfette all over again.

As I, and I believe most fiction writers, understand it there are 2 ways people will generaly react when exposed to something that caused them trauma. They will, generally, either:

A. Dissociate;
or
B. Lash out.

So I'd say it has nothing to do with the setting.
