I think numbers are a big factor to it. Combine that with a powerful lust that's flips at the drop of the dime and is capable of suppressing reason for some (if not most) of the women in that world as well as weapons (like drugs or tasers etc.) that can help weaken and/or incapacitate a man; it's no wonder why they're against sending him to an all girls school. I wouldn't be surprise if the Mother and Sisters could be considered sane by that world's standards.

I think numbers are a big factor to it. Combine that with a powerful lust that's flips at the drop of the dime and is capable of suppressing reason for some (if not most) of the women in that world as well as weapons (like drugs or tasers etc.) that can help weaken and/or incapacitate a man; it's no wonder why they're against sending him to an all girls school. I wouldn't be surprise if the Mother and Sisters could be considered sane by that world's standards.

There's also the open question of why there are so few men being born. There's clearly something wrong about the human genetics in that world, so it's possible the situation also affects the men's behavior, like their level of aggression and thus capability of defending themselves. Furthermore, since there are so few men and they are in constant danger, they can't have that significant a role in the society. That would generate a negative feedback loop for the men: They don't see men having much power in politics or business, so they don't feel powerful individually either.

Honestly I don't think the mother and Sisters are sane, at least not by our world standard's. However by their world's standards, it appears that having a lustful reaction and/or wild fantasies towards a man is the norm (regardless of the relationship it would seem), at least if we're to go by the inner thoughts of most of the women that we've seen thus far here. It's only the women, who actually act on their lustful desires and attack men, are treated as extreme cases (seemingly), yet said cases happen frequent enough to strike fear in most men hearts and have them uncomfortable around women.

i think i mentioned it before, 1:39 is a ridiculous ratio. it's 104 men to 100 women in China after one-child policy and they have some crazy marriage problems now.

if the women weren't horny in a 1:39 world, governments would need to enact mandatory pregnancies to prevent human extinction or break some ethical codes.

That one is a bit weird TBH. 2.5% is low but not non-existent. Maybe they rarely get to interact with men, but never seeing one? Odd.
