Maybe that was a noble family's vacation house. It's kind of strange the village, despite being so prosperous, doesn't seem to have any administration, beyond the village chief, who's like any random villager. If a nobleman had actually lived in that building, ruling over the village, why would the family have abandoned the village? Or why didn't a duke/king name a replacement if that particular family died out?

Glad to know I am not the only one wondering why a manor just happens to be empty in a village in the middle of nowhere.

What an odd thing, if it's a nobels ex house wouldn't the village chief claim it? Seems odd to leave the only well large built house just go to rot with no use. Not even a hotel or something?

Yup we are really setting up the torak and mage girl getting closer while tsundere eventually realises her jealousy. This will suck on 2 fronts as first Torak and Tsundere don't seem a good fit and secondly this will mean mage girl loses twice on the love front.
