First up Mage girl is a former A ranker who went adventuring around. There is no way she's that weak to hold/swing an axe. Secondly why would adventurers not know how to fell a tree? They literally have to be self sufficient out in the jungles and all that.

• She was an adventurer but she was a mage. What would be the point of her knowing how to use an axe?
• The only wood Adventurers would need in a jungle is the one to lit a bonfire, so they would just need some dry branches, not a whole ass tree.
