Kinda weird to do a wife test after they've been living together for months at this point. The ceremony doesn't really change anything wouldn't it be better to do the test before the marriage?

Yes I commented a year ago, I had to reread the whole series cause I forgot too much.
This chapter's events are quite rare in manga, never mind general storytelling: usually it's the man that's pressured/tested/probed by his girl's parents (at most, those parents prove troublesome for both).

I'm perfectly fine with the story focusing primarily on Aldo and Flora. The vast majority of manga out there focus on characters like that ugly "tomboy" (Aisha--had to go back into the chapter for that) or other kinds of flatchests, like lolis--and play them up as ideal, while actually and patently appealing and beautiful (that is, to guys whose libidos aren't corrupted) girls like Flora end up sidelined (and, frequently, demonized in various ways) for that purpose. They always end up losing in romance, as if to push the idea that those flatchests are ideal (and that busty girls are inherently inferior--not to mention immoral, as mangaka usually don't fail to fixate on their busts despite the aforementioned negative characterization).

It's an extreme example, but Mone-san no Majimesugiru Tsukiaikata is one manga that could have gone its entire length (only about eighty chapters) without giving much attention to its side characters. Perhaps due to executive influence, it did the exact opposite--and thus the manga became garbage despite its top-tier heroine (who doesn't show up anywhere near as much as the side characters--despite her name being in the title).

Side characters can just stay side characters--they can provide extra detail to the story from their subordinate position. This is also a sweet and wholesome story about a "slow life", as the title says; random conflict doesn't need to be thrown in for novelty's sake (and authors go ludicrously far for that purpose).
I will say (sorry for the really late reply I missed this) we have a b plot in this already from the start about them wanting MC to overthrow the king hence his escape. Also we have spent a decent amount of time with the Torak and Tsun girl's development so I feel it's more then fair to hope they expand on these things. Heck I assume MC's whole party will end up in this village at some point and ofcourse also mage girl needs a husbando.

I don't know about others, but I don't care about that sort of thing. Of course necroing disrupts necessary order, but I think this kind of reply is fine, and doesn't count as such--it's completely relevant, and there will be people coming long after you reading or rereading making exactly your kind of reply, which is exactly what these chapter discussion threads are for (one would think, anyway).

You're right about the side plot--and it only serves to better the story; it's completely different from what happened with the sorry manga I named. In fact, I don't disagree with anything you said...on the surface.

I still think that Toakk should have ended up with Kurune (the mage)...but an even better choice exists in someone else you'll read about when you reach that chapter. Either one's so very obviously a better choice than the "tomboy"--for Toakk to choose her would be one of two messages sent by the author: A) Toakk has very bad taste, or B) the "tomboy", as she is, is a better choice than either Kurune or the other choice. It can't be A), because his choosing her would inherently be positive--you only choose what's desirable in such a case. That leaves only B). The "tomboy", at least up until now, has nothing going for her but a tsundere act; she acts like a guy, dresses like a guy, and looks like a guy (the only thing about her that's feminine is her hair). He would only be marrying a girl that's more "one of the guys" than some would be willing to admit--one that, with how combative the two already are (though in a familiar way) would end up a massive nag in the future.

She doesn't have to end up that way, sure--but look at her behavior up until now, before the tsundere act popped up. You're clearly supposed to believe she's a solid choice because she's always been around going back-and-forth with him. Might be a sign of a good platonic friendship, but--combined with everything else about the "tomboy"--that'd be something else in romance.

Oh, well. If Toakk chooses the "tomboy", I can always feel sorry for him and focus on everyone else.
