My understanding of the situation was that MC intentionally did that so that Pram would better recognize the value of the sword through the shopkeeper's reaction. I might be giving too much credit though?

Yeah, there's evidence that Jesus the person existed. But if he was just a normal human and not the son of God then what's the point of thanking him for this chapter? I've seen arguments over religion on the internet and this one is one of the dumbest ones I've ever seen.

People can believe in whatever fairy tales they want. But others have no obligation to avoid offending their tender sensibilities for believing such things. If you are offended by others who don’t share your beliefs, tough luck. You don’t get to enforce your beliefs in others.

I wasn't born yesterday, I don't "enforce" my beliefs on anyone. I pretty much just said calling someone's faith a fairy tale is rude. If you want to continue to offend people, that's on you.

I see your point but then again, what's the point of someone saying "Don't thank God, thank ______ instead"? That person is clearly saying something controversial no matter how much he tries to cover it up. I just let him know it was offensive; he knew what he was doing when he said it.
