Well, half of it is teamwork ... the rest is both some extra decades in magic research and tactics on the side on the side of Desir team ( a lot of them taugh by Desir himself, as shown in this chapter ) and plain stupid arrogance from the part of the oponent ( that, TBH, could had flattened Desir & Co if it had not severely underestimated them ) ...

But yeah, more realistic than a lot of manga out there indeed ...

Very late but dude, she was estimated to be a 5th-circle (or higher but likely not) mage. Get it? A mere 5th-circle. That outer crow -mask revolutionary was a 6th circle, and Desir took him on solo and almost beat him before he used that tesseract artifact. And even after using it, which probably boosted his abilities upto 7th-circle tier, Desir's team was still beating him. And this was almost a whole year ago, they're all much stronger now. So obviously a mere 5th-circle mage had absolutely no chance here. Even if she took on just Pram or Romantica solo, I'm sure the result would've been the same.
