I can at least understand the feeling, despite it not actually being such, because the POV (we are dealing with a POV-kun, that needs to be understood) includes the information you're referencing, but without the POV or reader embodying that information.

That's to say, we don't actually feel those ten years, and we don't even at least see intermediate information -- we see another page that has "ten years later" appended to it, and the only thing prior was the indication that she was having a good time with the POV character. The comic seemingly exploits the intended effect of point-of-view in comics like these in order to engender that feeling, no matter how irrational.

Perhaps people are misinterpreting the sense of "without me, though" as a feeling of being cuckolded...
