Lolol ok... So the Watsonian explanation for her not getting sword or magic training is to avoid being Too Special bc of politics & right of succession. I’m guessing being a position to threaten her younger brother’s claim to the throne is a no-no.​
The Doylist explanation is that the fem lead has to be vulnerable enough for the ML to be able to save/protect. It wouldn’t be hetromance if she were trained to be his equal. Power dynamics must always be in the man’s favor. I’m not bitter at all :’)​

@ohkimch they could've avoided going that route if they made her smarter- smart enough to pretend like she isn't as talented or strong as her brother. But yeah same... not bitter at all...

maximizing the feelings of the opposite gender
first of all very convenient to only now come out with that magic would have been usefull a few years earlier
secondly to maximize feelings there have to be feelings first
and lastly sadly feelings got nothing to do with orders
should have invested in mind control and illusion instead
